Seminars at ICTP
On 5 October 1964, a seminar on plasma physics served as a platform from which to officially launch ICTP. In all, 73 participants attended the seminar, representing 14 countries in the West, five in the East, and 12 in the South.
At the centre of the event, not surprisingly, were the two founding fathers of ICTP: Abdus Salam and Paolo Budinich, both of whom had worked tirelessly to make the Centre a reality.
Since then, the Centre has engaged in organizing not only large-scale conferences and training activities, but also a number of informal daily seminars aimed both at the general public and the scientific community. More information can be accessed by contacting the scientific groups directly.
